What you’ll need:
Any Kommo plan (Base, Advanced, Pro, Enterprise, or 14-day trial)
Admin access for workspace-wide settings, integrations, and user management
A basic understanding of how your business receives and works with new inquiries
Keep in mind:
You do not need to configure every Kommo feature before you start
Begin with one lead source and one simple workflow, then add more tools as your process becomes clear
This checklist takes you from an empty workspace to a working sales process. You will choose how leads enter Kommo, set up a simple Pipeline, process a test Lead, and prepare your team to work with real clients.
Complete the steps in order when possible. If your workspace is already partly configured, start with the first unfinished step.
1. Understand the basic workflow
Before changing any settings, learn how leads, pipelines, communication channels, tasks, and automations work together.
This step is complete when: You understand where a new inquiry appears, how it becomes a lead, and how that lead moves through your sales process.
2. Choose your starting point
Your setup should match how your business currently receives new clients. You can begin with a messaging channel, email, website form, advertising source, spreadsheet import, or manually created lead.
Choose the best setup path for your business.
This step is complete when: You have selected one main way to bring leads into Kommo.
3. Set up a simple pipeline
Your pipeline should reflect the main steps a lead goes through before a deal is won or lost. Start with a few clear stages, such as New inquiry → Contacted → Offer sent → Decision.

You can use the default pipeline, apply a template, or customize the stages to match your process.
Learn how to create and manage pipelines.
This step is complete when: Each stage represents a meaningful step in the client journey and your team knows when to move a lead forward.
4. Bring in your first lead
Use the setup path you selected:
Messaging: Connect your first channel.
Existing database: Import your records.
Manual setup: Create your first lead.
This step is complete when: A test lead appears in the correct pipeline and stage with enough information to contact the client.
5. Process the lead from start to finish
Open the test lead and complete the same actions your team will perform with a real client:
Review or add the client’s contact details.
Send a reply or add an observation about the conversation.
Create a follow-up task.
Move the lead to the next Pipeline stage.
Mark the lead as won or lost when the test is complete.
This step is complete when: The lead’s profile shows the conversation or observation, the next action, and the complete stage history.
6. Invite your teammates
Once the basic workflow works, invite the people who will manage leads and conversations. Give each person access only to the sections and records they need.
Learn how to invite teammates.

This step is complete when: Each teammate can sign in, find their assigned leads, and complete their daily actions.
7. Add one useful automation
Automate one repetitive action after the manual workflow is clear. For example, create a follow-up task when a lead enters a stage or assign new leads to the right teammate.
Learn how to automate pipeline actions.
This step is complete when: You have tested the automation with a sample lead and confirmed that the expected action runs.
Check that your workspace is ready
Your basic setup is complete when:
Your pipeline reflects your real sales process
At least one lead source works correctly
A test lead can be created or received
Your team can contact the lead and record the next action
The lead can move through the pipeline and be closed correctly
The right teammates can access their work
You can now begin working with real leads. Add more integrations, fields, pipelines, and automations only when they solve a clear need in your process.
